Zeolite is the name of a mineral group. Among manufacturing materials it is evaluated as industrial raw material. There are more than 40 natural minerals of zeolite. The most important ones are clinoptilolite, chabazite and analsim. Besides,there are more than 150 synthetic minerals of zeolite.
Natural zeolites form, where volcanic rocks and ash layers react with alkaline groundwater. Clinoptilolite also known as clino; is the most common type of natural zeolite, is high in reserve amount and has superior technological properties.
Above all, zeolite is also known as an environmentalist mineral. Excess fertilization and incorrect irrigation pollutes both ground and surface waters. Zeolite averts washing away of the nutrious fertilizer and prevents possible water pollution that may be caused by these inaccurate applications.
Besides, zeolite is used for refining waste water, especially at sewage treatment plants in the U.S.A. and Japan.
It’s certain that clino, which both exists and produced in our country; is going to be one of the most important raw materials of the forthcoming century.
