ZEOLITES IN TURKEY

The existence of zeolite ore in Turkey was firstly determined in the year 1971. Generally zeolite mines are spread over 13 zones in our country. Approximately 40 % of total world reserve is estimated to be in Turkey.

 

These are;

 

  • Manisa (Gördes ,Gediz, Hisarcık,)
  • Ankara , Eskişehir ,Bolu ,Sakarya (Polatlı,   Ayaş, Oğlakçı, Mülk, Nallıhan, Beypazarı, Kalecik, Mihaliçcık, Çayırhan, Bahçecik, Gölpazarı and Göynük)
  • Kütahya (Emet, Yoncaağaç, Şaphane)
  • Balıkesir (Bigadiç)

 

Among the mines listed above, Manisa-Gördes has critical importance. Because zeolite ore produced from Gördes mines has  the most suitable structure and characteristics for various industrial applications. Furthermore, the proved reserve of zeolite ore in Manisa-Gördes is approximately over 1 billion tones.
